Calabona: rocks and crystal clear water just outside the city
The Calabona area includes the entire coastline from the homonymous hotel and arrives to the Calabona Bridge. In this section there are rocks and coves to the beach just below the bridge.
La Speranza (Poglina): the beach surrounded by mountains
The beach of Speranza or Poglina is about 6Km from Alghero. Hope for the beautiful green stones that are all around and inside the water. It is particularly impressive due to its location surrounded by mountains and crystal clear water. This beach is also suitable for families with children due to the presence of all amenities and equipped green areas.
Proceeding towards Bosa you will enjoy breathtaking views of the panoramic road connecting the two cities. This area of the coast is suitable for those who love the backdrops, diving and a bit of adventure. Along the way there are several places to park and then go down to the rocks through the trails.
San Giovanni Beach
This beach is in the city. Start immediately after the port and extends until the beginning of the pine forest of Maria Pia. Here you will find well-equipped areas and all the services the city can offer. Restored by the wind and the waves with its crystalline water is the ideal place for those who prefer to walk on foot and for children.
Maria Pia: the beach and the pine forest
Going to Fertilia, immediately after the San Giovanni beach, you find the Pineta of Maria Pia with its beach. The white sand blends with the dunes covered by the Pineta and the mediterranean scrub. On the beach the pine trees offer fresh shade areas to shelter from the summer heat and the Pineta are equipped areas where to play and enjoy picnics in peace.
Le Bombarde Beach: the pearl of Alghero
The Bombarde Beach is the pearl of the Coral Riviera. It is about 9 km from Alghero and can be reached by bus and bicycle following the path of the cycle path. The zone have full of equipped areas and bars, can be rented catamarans, surf and pedal boats, sailing and diving school.
This small beach is very crowded in high season as it is known as the most beautiful beach with its Caribbean waters and white sand.
The Lazzaretto: history, sea and wildlife
The Lazzaretto beach takes its name from the building built in 1722 by Viceroy Baron Filippo Guglielmo Pallavicino of San Remy, which was said to have been made for fear of the plague spread in Provence with the intent of assisting quarantine vessels. This stretch of coast stretching for 2 km just after the Bombarde offers transparent water and various coves immersed in the vegetation.
Mugoni: the beach and the pine forest in the Porto Conte area
To get to the beach of Mugoni you have to continue towards Porto Conte and enter the opposite Pineta. The area is provided with all services and you can do a lot of sports activities. The sand is golden and the sea is green protected from the waves.
Cala Dragunara: the miniature paradise
Although the beach of Dragunara is very small there are parking areas for access, a bar and a reserved area with sun loungers and umbrellas. The pristine nature of the place is astonishing and you can take the boat to get to Neptune Caves. Ideal for snorkeling and for swimming in crystal clear waters.
